Autism Awareness Month - Brought to you by the Butterfly Room

8th May 2026
Knockavoe pupils recently celebrated World Autism Month with a vibrant "Light It Up Blue" event! Our school community truly shone, showing incredible support and raising vital awareness for autism.
💙 Overwhelming Generosity A huge thank you goes out to everyone who donated blue-themed items for our celebration. Because of your kindness, we successfully created 35 spectacular hampers. 🎟️ The Big Draw Our hardworking Student Council oversaw the official draw, selecting our winners from across our staff and pupils. We hope all our winners are enjoying their well-deserved treats! 🤝 Giving Back to the Community Thanks to the sheer volume of donations, we were able to extend our reach beyond the school gates. We were delighted to share the joy by donating hampers to:
  • Woodmount Nursing Home
  • Melmount Manor Nursing Home
  • Strabane Food Bank
Together, we didn’t just raise awareness—we made a real difference in our local community. Thank you for your continued support!   Article 23 (Children with Disabilities): Children with disabilities have the right to special care, education, and training to help them enjoy full, independent lives.
