Eco Schools - Bronze Award

6th Jun 2020

The Eco School Programme is the world’s largest Environmental Education Programme and it aims to make environmental awareness and action, an intrinsic part of the life and ethos of a school. This programme is run by an Eco committee which is made up of pupils and staff. The committee ensures activities are implemented so that improvements can be made to the school and local community.

Throughout the year we have been working extremely hard to ensure our School is more environmentally friendly. Our set targets were to develop biodiversity and Global perspectives. This has involved the children working closely with the RSPB and in turn they have created beautiful bird houses and bird feeders which have been strategically located around the school. Pupils also enjoyed amalgamating with a local primary school to listen to a talk from the British Red Cross about Homelessness and completing group activities.

We are delighted to announce that we were awarded the Eco Schools Bronze Award on the 23rd May 2020. We look forward to continuing to develop our environmental awareness.
