ICT Excellence Awards: Highly Commended for Knockavoe School
Yesterday, Shauna and Sharon attended the Capita Northern Ireland Schools ICT Excellence Awards at The Merchant Hotel in Belfast.
We are delighted to share that Knockavoe School was awarded Highly Commended.
Category: making a difference for learners, evidence of the successful integration of digital technology to improve learning outcomes.
This is a fantastic achievement, and we are extremely proud to receive recognition for the innovative use of ICT and assistive technologies that support teaching and learning across our school.
As a special needs school, it was particularly rewarding that the judges recognised the meaningful impact of our approach. They were highly impressed by how ICT and assistive technologies are embedded throughout the school to enhance communication, accessibility, and independence for our pupils, ensuring every child is supported to reach their full potential.
We would like to congratulate all staff involved in the judging process. Earlier this year, we welcomed a panel of six judges to Knockavoe, where they met with members of the Senior Management Team and teaching staff, and observed the effective use of ICT resources in classrooms across the school.
Knockavoe was one of twenty something schools shortlisted from hundreds of entries across Northern Ireland, making this recognition even more special.
Well done to everyone involved in this wonderful achievement!
