Lusaka together
A local group of 14 young people have begun a fundraising drive to help support the building of a new school library in Lusaka Africa. They will travel to Lusaka and contribute to this work In April 2026. Whilst the group are self funding their own costs, 'The Spirit of Paul mc Girr Foundation' , which they are supporting - requires them to raise £20,000 to support the building of the library. The young people have asked all the schools to hold a non uniform day and support this cause. Several staff members and their children are involved in this kind initiative of giving back.
Knockavoe School have offered to hold a non uniform day on Fri 27th June 2025 and any pupils who wish to do so, can wear their own clothes and make a small donation of £1 to the Lusaka Together initiative.
They are also requesting that if any families who would like to donate books in good condition could leave them at Knockavoe School and we shall have them collected. Closing date for book donations is also Fri 27th June.
