Knockavoe Strikes Again

9th May 2025
As the sun shone down on a glorious May morning, our senior football team set off with excitement and pride to The Valley Leisure Centre, Newtownabbey, to compete in the FAI Cup Finals Tournament.

With spirits high and determination in their hearts, our pupils represented Knockavoe School with outstanding passion and sportsmanship. Led by our inspirational Team Captain, Connor, who led from his goalkeeping position, the team faced tough opposition from Antrim, Down, Derry, and Armagh – all under the blazing sun!

While the results didn’t go our way on the pitch, the team’s performance was nothing short of fantastic. We couldn’t be prouder of their effort, unity, and dedication. A particular highlight of the day was the presence of former Manchester United legend Mal Donaghey, who refereed and offered words of encouragement – an unforgettable experience for our players.

Despite the scores, spirits remained high. There was plenty of laughter and fun on the bus, and the team enjoyed a great day out, filled with memories that will last a lifetime.
