Following our close work together and the successful motion passed in relation to Makaton, Cllr Brian Harte kindly arranged for our Student Council to attend a special reception with the Mayor at the Guildhall.
We had the most fantastic day celebrating, enjoying a guided tour, and even holding our very own council meeting in the chamber!
A huge thank you to Mayor Ruairí, who took the time to speak with us and share his journey over the past year. One of his highlights, of course, was spending time in Knockavoe School and working with Poga during his recent campaign.
We would also like to thank all local councillors, as well as our very own Roisin, who continues to embed UNICEF Rights Respecting principles throughout the school, and Sharon, who has supported and championed the use of Makaton.
Finally, a huge thank you to our Student Council and all our pupils, who continue to have their voices heard. They make us proud every day as they lead change and shine together.
